LipsNspritz of the … er … Fortnight.

I hate being ill, and I really hate being ill to the extent that it interferes with my posting schedule.  Nonetheless, here’s a double-dose (whether you wanted it or not, frankly) of my weekly diary of lipstick and perfume-wearing.  The above pic is from the week ending 22/11/15. Monday was Etat Libre d’Orange Like This, alongside Chantecaille Lip Chic in Wild Rose.  Like This is […]

LipsNspritz 15 November 2015

I was ill on Wednesday, and yesterday (the day after the Paris terrorist attacks), rightly or wrongly, it simply didn’t feel appropriate to celebrate lipstick and perfume on Instagram, so a shortened #LipsNspritz this week.  Monday brought Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution lipstick in Walk of Shame wjhich is a lovely neutral berried-rose shade (seriously difficult to describe this one, it’s not red, and it’s not […]

LipsNspritz of the week 08.11.15

I ended up having a week of musk, it wasn’t planned, but after wearing The Body Shop White Musk layered up with Serge Lutens Clair de Musc (a combination I’d planned to wear for my wedding, till I realised I needed something with a little more oomph!), I realised that I wanted to wear more of it. I wore these with ByTerry lipstick in Cherry […]

Guerlain Meteorites Flocons Enchantes Christmas 2015

The first sight of Guerlain’s Christmas collection every year is the real sign that the festive season is on the way, and frankly, this year’s Meteorites have excelled themselves.  They’re beautiful, and so is the packaging. Moving away from the traditional fluted tin, Guerlain are presenting this year’s Meteorites in a beautiful snowglobe complete with golden accents. The last time they moved away from the […]

LipsNspritz 31.10.15

It was definitely a week of two halves, lipstick-wise at least! Bright reds, by Guerlain (Rouge Parade), Burberry (Military Red) and Art Deco (Dita Von Teese collection) were the order of the day, particularly on Wednesday, when I felt a real need for power dressing, which called for a hugely long-lasting red (as the Art Deco is), and when paired with Donna Karan Signature […]

#LipsNspritz of the week 11.10.15

Life would be dull indeed without lipstick and perfume, I’ve made it a mission this last month or so to document my entire lipstick and perfume “wardrobe”.  The idea is to wear every perfume and lipstick that I own, and post my thoughts on each on Instagram every day.  I’m trying to do it without repeats, but I’ve decided to allow myself the occasional one […]

Guerlain Reissues Terracotta le Parfum for 2015

Last year, to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their iconic bronzing range, Terracotta, Guerlain released a limited edition tiare-inspired fragrance Terracotta Le Parfum, and to say it was a hit would be a mild understatement.  It sold out in what seemed like moments, and I kicked myself hugely for not hunting down a bottle as soon as I saw the press release. So this year, […]

Guerlain Meteorites Compact – Medium

I’m a bit of a Meteorites completist, I admit.  So, when I was brutally mugged by this compact at the Guerlain counter at Vienna airport recently, I didn’t mind too much.  I love Meteorites, and have almost every edition they’ve done in the last ten years.  It’s very sad, as I rarely use them, because they’re not very portable.  I do love the glow you […]

Guerlain Christmas 2014 – L’Ecrin 2 Couleurs in Cygne Noir

And so we reach the Black Swan section of Guerlain Christmas 2014, with the release of the L’Ecrin 2 Couleurs eyeshadow palette in Cygne Noir, and very pretty it is too.  I rarely expect much from the eyeshadow duos from Guerlain (I’ve never bought one, for example), but this one did make me do a little “ooooh” of joy when I opened it: Black and […]

Guerlain Christmas 2014 – Gloss d’Enfer in Rouge Parade & L’oiseau de Feu

Alongside the Rouge G in Rouge Parade, and topcoat for nails in L’Oiseau de Feau, Guerlain have also released matching Gloss d’Enfers for Christmas.  The Gloss d’Enfers are hugely pigmented glosses, almost liquid lipsticks traditionally, so it’s interesting to see a clear gloss in the formulation too, Here you can see that Rouge Parade is an opaque bright fire-engine red, and L’Oiseau de Feu is […]

Guerlain Christmas 2014 – L’Oiseau de Feu Topcoat for nails

There’s been a nail polish in the last couple of Christmas collections from Guerlain, and this year is no exception.  Last year we had the sublime Sulfurous which might just be one of my favourite nail polish colours ever.  This year, there is a pale gold polish in Coque D’or, and this, a gold-leaf topcoat L’oiseau de Feu. Now, straight off the bat, I’m going […]

Guerlain Christmas 2014 – Rouge G “Rouge Parade”

I absolutely cannot resist a limited edition Rouge G. I’ve tried.  I swear I have, but every new collection, another one comes out, and bingo! My handbag gets ever heavier … This year’s Christmas Rouge G is … perfect.  Coated in glossy red lacquer, this is a gloriously bright and seasonally appropriate shade of poinsetta-red. I think I got a bit carried away taking pictures […]
